I have friends on Atkins. I don't talk to them about it - I know how hot the dietary hot-button is, for a start (I hate it when people tell me that veganism is unhealthy). But I worry. I worry that they're seeing short-term gain for long-term loss. I can't know for sure, of course, until many long-term studies and epidemiological studies have been done, but it worries me.
