It's an amino acid if you didn't know :D . It might be a good read for the people wolfing down protein supplements. It might also give a hint on why vegans seem to live longer and healthier lives (if, like the article implies, one does it right).
The key is to lower IGF-1 (insulin like growth factor 1). It does grow muscle like you would expect it to but it also does a lot of damage, like fertilising cancer cells and accelerates ageing.

Obviously, since people have been living on vegan diets for many years without the "complete" proteins in e.g soy and quinoa, too little doesn't seem to be a problem.
