[quote="DB"]You have to read the whole blog at Flaming Vegan and the posts. It's pretty funny and pathetic at the same time. I especially like SnakeWitch's reply to the comment that she should amend her blog to include more accurate information.

ohh thank you for that recommendation !!! f***ing classic ... this response from her to Jack Norris "2- I've said it before: you can't just barge into this site and order us around as to which article needs to stay up and which doesn't. You're not boss here, and if I decide that this post stays, it stays. You need to accept that and stop pretending you're God Almighty who knows everything. You don't. " - right after saying why she doesn't trust "science" but purporting to present science in her article, what an attitude, we need more vegans like this eh..

Cox Envy is just really amazing and lasted from just 10 (−36) seconds after the Big Bang to sometime between 10 (−33) and 10 (−32) afterwards.

I've heard a LOT of conflicting stuff on B12, some people saying that your gut manufactures it therefore you don't need to worry about it in your diet. Most people who are B12 deficient are meat eaters, which tells me that the B12 issue isn't a vegan one, it's a scarcity of certain nutrients in our diet one, guessing that the way we live is removing stuff we need and that soil-poor areas aren't helping this.

I play it safe and take a supplement. It is actually the ONLY nutrient I worry about other than vitamin D in the winter. The rest I know I'm good on because I eat well. :)

B12 isn't in food, it's in shit. Bacteria that live in shit, to be precise. So the only way to get it from your gut is to eat your own shit.

Herbivores get it by grazing on plants that have bits of shit stuck to them, or by licking their own bottoms.

So if you don't want to expose yourself to E Coli by eating shit, keep washing your vegetables and taking supplements.

I heard it comes from the soil, but I suppose that the soil can be full of shit too.

There isn't a conflict among health professionals with relevant educations, credentials and backgrounds.

True, but that happens too far along in your digestive anatomy for your body to absorb or benefit from it. You can't drive your car if your keys are locked in the trunk.

Please keep doing that :)

Jack Norris, vegan RD and a cofounder of Vegan Outreach has boiled down vegan nutrition into a ONE PAGE check list. I find it to be really useful to print it out once in a while, put it on my fridge and then monitor my habits for a few days.

Well...that's not the case from what I've seen. :-/

I've had a LOT of people ask me about vegan nutrition, and that's a damned useful link to have as a result. Thank you!!

The key word is "relevant" as applied to education, credentials and background.

No MD will tell anyone that b-12 in the lower intestines is absorbed and used. People who have MDs, RDs, who regularly read the journals, who are not selling a product and who are not selling a food religion pretty much agree on most things in my experience.

You've summed up why I love eating raw but some of the raw foodists have turned me off to it entirely, especially the 80-10-10ers.
