It very much depends on the type of chocolate and the type of meat. Overall I would say they are equal, due to most people eating shite chocolate and shite meat. Chocolate has more than meat, but it's non-heme iron, so the body isn't as good at digesting it. I think they even out in the end....

The type of iron here is important, we know that non-heme i.e plant iron is not as well absorbed by the body as heme iron which is found in animal foods.

Dark chocolate is rich in various minerals though not just iron, it is a very good source of magnesium also.

Thats good! I eat a shitload of dark chocolate(62percent and above mostly). The stuff I'm eating right now is 8percent protein which is pretty damn good for a sweet :D Think I'll have another 100g

The only downside for me with dark and raw chocolates is how rich in theobromine and caffeine they are. Two stimulants my body can no longer handle sadly.

There are a good few studies on the benefits of dark chocolate though especially for the heart and circulatory health. 70% are above i believe are what the studies used.
