I had comprehensive blood work done recently and everything came back fine by the doctor's assessment. I got a copy of the results though and looked them over myself and I'm a little worried about my TSH number - 2.82. The old range for a normal thyroid ended at 5 but now some doctors say anything above 3 or even 2.5 should be considered hypothyroid. (

Should I go to an endocrinologist? Or should I cut down drastically on goitrogens like soy and cruciferous veggies and take an iodine supplement (I had assumed the iodine in my multi was sufficient) and get retested in a few months?

Go see an endocrinologist if you can. Advice of a medical professional who can examine you in person and order the appropriate tests and treatments is almost always preferable to the advice of unqualified random strangers on an internet board.
Even if the end result is they tell you not to worry about it

Yeah get back to the doctor.
The thyroid is abit more complicated than just iodine, there can be numerous reasons for hypothyroid. You'll need a good endocrinologist though as most at least here in the UK dont really look at the causes but just give out pharmaceuticals.
