on another note ..I recently read and I don't remember where so I can't reference it, that movie theaters are FILTHY!
All those people sitting and eating, dropping all the garbage on the ground with only a minor sweep between showings, gives way to rats etc. looking for a food source..
I love animals and all but seeing a rat run by while I am watching a movie is not my idea of a good time.
Those dark lights make us oblivious to the dirty realities of the theatres.
It kind of has me spooked

Grapes, grapes and more grapes!
In the summer I'll cut them in half and mix with a load of raspberries, blueberries and sliced strawberries.
Please check out my blog, and my latest ramblings on milk, soap and glory and animal testing, Thanks!

[quote="baldy"]Half the fun is surely smuggling food into a cinema?
In my youth we used to smuggle beers and vodka into the cinema. Nothing like opening an ice cold beer during the opening scene, the sound of the can cracking open is in itself almost satisfaction enough.

The last movie I smuggled a small carton of chocolate soya milk and slab of chocolate in, then ate the large popcorn and coke I was "sharing" with the lady.

I once smuggled in an entire pizza, in its carton. :) But I used to buy popcorn in that cinema, since they were freshly popped. I hate cold popcorn or popcorn that has been standing in a heating cabinet for the last 4h. Nowadays I rarely bring or buy anything.

Funniest thing was first time at a normal British cinema, when every one got ice cream! Who'd be stupid enough to sell ice cream to kids for them to sit and spill on the seats and the floor in the dark?? :)

[quote="JuicyJ"][quote="JP"]i think people like ninearms and konstantin should be banned from posting this thread, akin to people who preach abstenance on a good sex thread.

what about having sex while watching a movie

I did.

It was a shit film at a shit cinema with shit audience endlessly chatting and munching and chewing and bitching about no smoking in cinema.

And since money doesn't grow on trees we made the best of the situation.

Next time somebody in the cinema has a problem with a couple moaning and panting in the background, remember to eat at home and shut your fucking mouths while in the cinema.

Except if you're watching an ultra masculine testosterone boosting action superhero movie thing. Like Rocky. But I can't stand those films so please resort to my previous paragraph...

I ate around half a big block (250g)of rum and raisin dark chocolate, and a big bag of gelatine free liquorice and jelly beans... :D Didn't eat them all myself as shared them with my 2 youngest kids as my eldest was having his first day at High School. Which was lucky as he's growing really fast atm (sure he's bigger than I was at the same age), eats like a horse, and would have basically scoffed the lot if he'd have been there!

Although being the considerate kind of guy I am, I made sure I left him some

[quote="JP"]all this talk about smuggling... i never would have thought it is even an issue!

Always carried food with me, sometimes totally visible.

It is because you are a BEAST a noone in the cinema would dare to question.

Last night had fried tofu, homemade oily mayonnaise, greensalad with heated seeds, root vegetables done in an owen (potatos, parsnip, sweet potato, rutabaga) and red wine.
