Smuggled? Its ok to bring your own food isnt it?
Not round here it's not; you get chucked out if caught. I'd guess that refreshments is where the cinemas make a lot of money, so they don't want people bringing their own food & drink in.
Not a problem in winter as one can wear a large coat (with its many pockets) without arousing suspicion. In warmer times I just stuff as much as I can in the wife's handbag

[quote="ninearms"]eating in the cinema is for savages.
and not eating for wee folk.
Dude, avatar was almost 3 hours + all the queuing and faff and walk from home etc. It has been a while since the last time i have had 3+ waking hours without food!
Eat before, eat after. It's OK to be a little bit hungry you know! You won't wither away!
People eating is one of the main reasons why I rarely go to the cinema, unless it's an action film where the sound of massive explosions is loud enough to drown out the sound of incessant rustling and crunching, and even then I tend to go to ther first showing on a Sunday when the film is at the end of its run and the chances of encountering one of these people is minimal. Luckily we now live about 1 minute's walk from a multiscreen, and 10 mins from a decent independent cinema, so we can be in and out in a flash. If I had my way all food would be banned from cinemas, people who talk would be thrown out, and people who leave halfway through to have a fag (!!!) would be refused re-entry.
“Begin at the beginning,” the King said gravely, “and go on till you come to the end. Then stop.”
