Homemade Egro bike

Postby wannalift » Wed Apr 13, 2011 3:28 am

Wondering if anyone on here has done this? I've been doing sprint intervals on my trainer, but I'd like to get a little more hardcore with my training and start to put up some heavy wattage. Something along these lines:

Wow !

Thats hardcore ! I like that ! :D

But with SRM cranks etc, that would cost quite a lot to put together.

Yeah, that's what I'm going for. I'm looking to push very high wattage for 10-15 seconds. More along the lines of the training you would need for a flying 200. I think you could make some simpler designs though like the one below and just attach your bike to it. Maybe attach a fluid trainer instead of the fins on the wheel. With the fluid trainer you could look up the power curve and add in the double gear reduction to get your wattage. I'd be lying though if I said I wasn't tempted to go for the SRM.

This is all so cool.
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."

I definitely plan on making this in the summer (maybe sooner) and I'll post a step-by-step guide on how I accomplish it.
