10 mile time trial

Postby philthy builder » Fri Apr 23, 2010 5:35 pm

I rode the first 10 of my return to testing last night .I did 25.51 which sounds pathetic but placed me 15th out of 35 riders so I suppose its not too bad.The event was on a slowish course with a poor surface and I rode my steel road bike without tri bars.

Although disapointed with my time I absolutely loved it and cant wait till the next one.

I wore my Vegan Cyclist jersey and had comments like "how do you have the strength to turn the pedals" from a guy who I beat by over a minute.

25:51 is pretty damn respectable...
Let's plunge ourselves into the roar of time, the whirl of accident, may pain and pleasure, success and failure, shift as they will - for it is only action that can make a man.

Did another 10 last night and did 25.30 so going the right way.My steel frame gets lots of comments.I think with tri bars and a bigger chainring I could knock a minute or more off my time.

After a couple of dns and dnf due to punctures, broken cranks and other problems over the last two weeks I did a 23.21 tonight which is heading towards a reasonable time.

Well not broken crank but it came off!Its one of those new type where the left crank slots on to the axle which is part of the right crank.Seems they need tightening with a wrench and checking regularly.

I rode the k33 10s which is a slightly different version of the course used for the national 10 recently.
