I have, because of sanity and high age, gone from SPD to flat pedals on my mtb. I need shoes to match and have done a quick google search that came up with everybody recommending 5-10. But they all seems to be made of leather and are, quite frankly, ugly. What are your recommendations for nice stiff shoes? Looks obviously come in second hand.

Downhillingdemon got some made. I think they were Vegetarianshoes that she got 5-10 to re-sole. I think she made a topic on here ages ago, not too sure but you can get 5-10 rubber soles fitted to other shoes (might not be cheap).
I just use canvas type skate shoes that work ok for me.

Thanks Johnstuff, re-soling seems like way to much work

I think I will just go for a pair of the more walking friendly spd-shoes and hope they work alright, right now Pearl Izumi X-Alp seek IV is the most probable shoe. At least it has a cool name!
