most products in cycling and life for that matter have some sort of animal product or animal testing involved in their manufacture.
the truck that brings my fruit to market runs over animals...
its about doing what we can. focus on what we can control and not what we cant.
most of the animal products used are by-products from the meat, dairy industry.
as we are vegans we are not supporting their financial growth but their downfall.
overtime manufacturing companies will find animal free products as the availibility of animal by products becomes more expensive due to scarsity due to people not eating/drinking animal products.
to simplify it..
cows are raised for meat and milk, not leather, leather is a by product made available for meat and dairy.
dairy cows are not milked to make sodium casienate for glue companies,
sodium casienate is a by product of the dairy industry and hence used as a glue ingredient.
fish are not caught or farmed for flecks in metallic paint. fish scales are a by product of the sea food industry. and are hence used in some paints.
the list goes on and on.
remember, do the best we can, focus on what we can control, not what we cant.
we can focus on being amazingly fit, happy, healthy , vital, drug free members of our community and therefore attract more people to the virtues of veganism.
thats what we can do!
