Too bad the brake was tapping and I was SLOW yesterday until I fixed it.
I'm going for a 2nd test run later today.

Taken on my ride in weekend . Unfortunately wasn't able to make much progress so had to head home via a rather dicey descent.

My quite old 853 custom in audax mode with huge saddle bag, now converted to relative lightweight (for a lugged steel F&F)
Image
As I have a new audax bike, 631 & fillet brazed and it's a lot more comfy for long distances and hardly any slower than the above
Image

I did buy a carbon bike in 1992, a titanium in 2000 but have since got 3 more steel bikes :D with them too

Somehow your link to flickr is not working for me. Either that, or it is a very light bike indeed. if I cut and paste the link from below I can see it.

I've bought a CX bike. 8)

Specialized Tricross, aluminium frame and carbon fork with 3x9 gears.
As if it wasn't bad enough getting used to drop bars and STI shifters after years of single speed or Rohloff MTB riding, I bought it off a Dutch friend, so the brakes are on the wrong side. :D
I've only been for one proper ride on it so far, and it feels a lot faster on the road, yet not much worse off road.
There's a hill up to Mary's where I can just about reach 16km/h on the MTB on a good day. I rode up it at 19km/h on the CX. Those skinny tyres really do make a difference.

I've ridden a road bike and always wanted to head off down interesting looking trails I see, I'm not really interested in riding technical mountain bike stuff, I'd rather keep moving and go somewhere, so I thought a CX bike would suit me.
I'm liking it so far.
I only live about 40km from Downhillingdemon by the most direct route, so there's a possibility for either of us to use the other's house as a mid ride stop on a metric century.

Just took it for a test ride, nearly tanked it hopping off a curb
