Need help in finding good helmet

Postby jamesndawson » Wed Apr 15, 2015 3:22 pm

I was stopped and fined for cycling helmetless, $52. Since I've already been stopped once, I may now be a target, and can't risk being stopped again, and getting an even larger fine. So I am forced to wear a helmet, which I have been. But it's ugly and uncomfortable. Below is a link to a helmet that looks aesthetically acceptable. It's the one Manganiello is wearing.

Can anybody give me a link to where I can find it. Hopefully it won't cost too much

Here's some more info for anyone interested. It's down on the left, posts to page.

No arguments intended here, just want to know where I can find a helmet.

Haven't been able to locate that helmet - though ti looks like a motorcycle helmet and not a bike helmet, which are designed differently for different impacts.

Consumer Reports did a review of helmets in their latest issue and their "best buy" helmet was a $12 one, the Schwinn Merge:

They're all pretty ugly and I have no idea if they're vegan :(

these look interesting. Sure there will be something equivalent your side.

Thanks, but I'm pretty much aesthetically reconciled to the helmet I now use. I still oppose mandatory helmet laws, but I'm more or less resigned to them. About half or more people here don't wear one. My own bike riding's gone down a bit, not so much out of protest, but just because the spontaneity's been taken out of it.
