This photo is a few years old, when I first acquired my bike. I mostly ride it around town to work, leisure, and on errands, but once a month or so my husband and I go riding offroad on backcountry trails.

Both set up as single speed, ready for an 8 hour race.

Cheers! The wheels don't belong, they're Ksyriums I bought about 6 years ago. I just put them on for the Campag freehub. The bike came with Mexico '68 rims and 600 hubs, still got 'em and they're like new.
The only 600 left on it is the 52/42 crank, which I'll swap for a 10spd Campag as soon as I remember where I put the puller

Hmmm....it is a little pricy. And those yellow rims look terrible !

I sold a Colnago Master on eBay, last year. it was well worn, with a mix of Chorus and Record kit, nine speed I think. It went for £600, more or less. There was some rust on the chrome, and various chips and scratches. I had battered it over a few winters, then left it in the shed for a decade. So it wasn't the best.

The trouble is, Colnago are collectable, especially to this new intake of cycling fans, the ones riding £10k team bikes, full team kit, crazy upright position and stack height, who seem to wear shorts on the coldest winter days, and ride in gears far too big. I don't want to say 'sportif' riders, but you know the ones.

My Colnago went to one of those. Nice guy, though. But I think anything with Colnago written on it has the potential for a silly price now.

I like the old Colnago steel frames though. Good training bikes.

We've got a tandem now.



It's a Viking Saratoga.
They retail for about £430 new. It's about the cheapest disc braked MTB tandem available. We got this for £280 with only 20 miles use.
The original cable disc brakes were useless. I've fitted 180mm Hope hydraulic brakes.
I've also fitted clipless pedals, Thomson and Easton seat posts and Charge and SDG seats. All second hand parts.

I'm Captain, Mary's Stoker.
Tandem frames always seem to be designed for the taller rider on the front, and it's easier anyway if the heavier and stronger one has the controls.
We just got back from our first proper ride, we are still learning how to get the most from it. We've worked out that it's easiest if Mary stays clipped in when we are stationary at junctions and I put my foot down.
Standing up to pedal up hill is going to take some practice, it feels completely wrong at the moment with no flow or rhythm.
