[quote="tylerm"]Great videos. Hey JP, I liked your stone lifts, the first two stones you didn't even lap em, just from the ground straight to the platform. You would have had that last stone if your arms were a little lower around it once you had it lapped, it was a great effort!

thanks man! I have done so little stone work that i dont really have any kind of technique in it. So i didnt even spot that i just lifted them up, thanks :D I think its actually first three stones, because the vid starts a bit late.

The fouth stone felt soooo heavy, but once i secured it it felt ok. The fifth was a no go man, my tacky was totally gone, the stone was smooth and dusty, i could not breathe and when i tried to go for it i pulled something in my upper abs which was a bit painful :D

-> rep training with stones coming up!

Congratulations all of you on the great lifting, no matter where you placed I was thoroughly impressed.

From a spectators point of view all I can say is that I was witness to a very brutal 3 hours of lifting, really nail-biting, where on earth did you find all your strength and energy to keep going so long! Much more interesting than powerlifting comps

[quote="wannalift"]much respect to all you guys for putting in an outstanding effort. my favorite is after Jonathan got the last stone loaded. there should be a separate video of him "walking" away from the area titled "this is what your body looks like after a strongman event".

Thanks David

I was at that point completely and utterly fucked, though my energy was better then than earlier on in the medley.

Thanks for all the encouragement folks - I think that I speak for all of us in saying that it was a fantastic day out :D

Nice work gentlemen!

The trick on the punishment survival is to take a couple (or six) ibuprofens before the the meet starts and then start drinking and eating as soon as it ends. There isn't much that can be done about the crushed feeling for the week following other than getting right back after it for some glorious active recovery.

Jon, the stones looked effortless my man. It looked like you barely used your hips to move those buggers onto the barrels. I'm a bit jealous of your long arms on those as well, my little stubs don't come close to being able to hug anything like that. Wow!

JP, the single motion on the first few stones was awesome.

A fine effort all around everyone! Post more videos! They are quite motivating (and frustrating since I just hurt my back this weekend and can't go play with my stones like I want to - erm, that wording seems poor).

Regards,

Sensless

Talking of trophies, heres a pic of it with 5 very tired vegans :D

I just noticed the trophy in this picture! Jonathan, it looks like you are holding a wine glass, not a trophy, did they get the smallest the could find, or did you request the small one so it makes you look bigger

Thanks for all the support/congrats folk :)

Pretty much back to normal for me (thankfully). Appetite is good again, and don't really feel burnt out or sore anymore. Training re-commences tomorrow night.

Lessons learnt (for me at least) - no solids on the day of comp, but plenty fluids. If at all possible try implements out before hand. Keep blob of tacky on outside elbow/arm. Hmm, sure i had more but can't think just now. Anyone else got any?

Full video (of me, jono, jp, deckerz, krypto) is in post-production and will be finalised tonight. Should be online, though it's too big for you-tube so will need to split or get hosted somewhere else. Some nice soundtracks with it too, which i'm sure you'll all love :D

Looking forward to seeing that, Buzz. Did you really vomit blood during the comp?

Yeah, a little. The chain always makes me feel hideous. The blood is just from an old war wound due to over consumption back in the day. Bit scary at the time, but feel brand new again now :)

For some reason, kept getting bugs in the full vid. I have it but the pic doesn't show on any of the log lifts for some reason. Could be the size, but don't see why. Deckerz - if you wantyour vids (everything apart from log) I can e-mail them to you, or compile one for you and post it.

Here is mine in the meantime http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omlormhXM9s
