Alexey Voevoda's diet

Postby hardcore iv » Thu Mar 07, 2013 12:28 am

If you are not familiar with this guy, check out the armwrestling documentary, Pulling John, and youtube clips. Heard that he was vegetarian about a year ago and found this poorly translated interview http://www.xsportnews.com/armwrestling/interview-alexey-voevoda-about-armwrestling-and-bobsleigh/
but this video (with english subtitles) gives better details. His diet is weird - only water on mondays and mostly raw, but he is still maintaining his body weight without resorting to superfoods it seems.

Interesting. Watched "Pulling John" a while ago, highly recommended documentary.

His training was intense and I remember him having a BBQ I think. So, I'm intrigued to see him being vegetarian. Would be interesting to read this Russian book.

The subtitles in this vid say he is full on raw vegan but eats cooked in the winter, then some crazy bearded guy interrupts the video.

Now an Olympic gold medalist: http://news.yahoo.com/zubkov-rolls-olympic-2-man-bobsled-gold-medal-165727271--spt.html

They mentioned him being raw vegan/vegetarian (terms were used interchangeably) during each of his last 3 runs on the CBC broadcast.
