Home made Squat Rack!

Postby TarekF » Wed Aug 22, 2012 4:27 am

We just finished a renovation of our house putting in quartz counters (in the picture too hah).

So my brother and I made a squat rack out of excess 2x4s using a guide here http://homemadestrength.blogspot.com/2011/04/more-than-just-squat-stands.html

Haven't tested it but they are very stable (plus i can't squat amounts that would put much stress on it).

Was a day project, incredibly simple and cheap too (but we had a lot of the stuff already like the wood, screws etc, just had to get buckets and concrete). It was kind of fun to make, and the first time ive used concrete

Yeah i did, was it some kind of scaffolding? I love the innovation haha (ive seen ones made with trestles but i couldn't find any here, and online they seem to be mostly in the UK)

I do love the simplicity of the design i followed, just stick some 2x4s in a bucket of concrete, and you're done

Very cool. If you are looking for a spot, tie some heavy duty nylon straps to a roof truss and loop it onto the bar. No truss? No problem, you can use saw horses.
Are you doing enough to be the best?
