strength goals 2013

Postby Talyn » Thu Dec 27, 2012 12:03 pm

With the new year approaching it's time to set some new goals.

Collated goals will be listed in the first post of this thread for easy reference later.

Light up the crackpipe, lets go!

-----------------------------

Talyn
1. Qualify for the nationals (475kg total at 83kg BW)
2. Squat 180kg
3. Bench 100kg
4. Deadlift 220kg
5. 100kg weighted chinup
6. Do not cut weight below 80kg under any circumstances

-----------------------------

Orkje
- increase my powerlifting total from 410 to 455 (no specific goals per lift, just see how things work out);
- increase my strict press from 73kg to 85kg;
- avoid knee problems when squatting by taking things slowly and by focusing on solid form.

-----------------------------

Mellos
1) get IPF RAW World Cup qualification (555 @ 73,9)
2) defend my IRP European champion title(s),
3) get a decent squat,
4) repeat progress of mid 2012 in the benchpress,
5) become stronger, fitter, bigger, more awesome, more shredded, more tan, just better overall.

-----------------------------

jas47
1) 1000 lb. (453.6 kg) powerlifting total -- (860 lb. now)
2) Minimum 350 lb. (158.8 kg) squat and deadlift -- (295 lb. now)
3) 300 lb. (136 kg) bench -- (270 lb. now)

-----------------------------

Adena
Squat: 255 lb
Bench: 135 lb
Deadlift: 300 lb

Alright let's write this down before I pussy out:

- increase my powerlifting total from 410 to 455 (no specific goals per lift, just see how things work out);
- increase my strict press from 73kg to 85kg;
- avoid knee problems when squatting by taking things slowly and by focusing on solid form.

That's it.

The plan:

2) 762,5 kg total and 277,5 kg squat (All-Time Drug Tested RAW World Record with Wraps)
3) 762,5 kg total and 275 kg squat (All-Time Drug Tested RAW World Record without Wraps)

Hm, I usually think more in terms of short term goals, so thinking of a 2013 goal is a bit of a challenge for me.... I guess this is what I'm hoping for:

Squat: 255 lb
Bench: 135 lb
Deadlift: 300 lb

damn... cant think of new pbs when my old ones are still a while away :D

fuck it!

280 deadlift
250 squat
140 overhead in some way, ANY WAY!
190 front squat

deadlift is probably the most attainable, will focus on that one
front squat shouldnt be too crack pipe either, i think i have had 200 front squat as a goal at some point when going has been good :D

Every time I try to set goals I decide they are silly a week later so decided this time I'll use maths instead of just what I think. I based it on being on track to lift British qualifying total while still a junior (not necessarily in a competition but for the sake of proving a point/winning a bet) so 412.5kg at 75kg by mid-2014, to leave a few months spare just in case.

165kg Deadlift, 130kg squat, 90kg bench
Bulk to 74kg, cut to 70, re-bulk to 74-76 and be able to maintain it

Though I'd settle for same total in a different combination but that seems most balanced

+ 80 kg in 1,5 years? I bet ya you can do more by then, if you just train hard every single time :) , so bring it on!

Btw, if you like mathematics, you should aim at 145/110/157,5 based on the RAW world records :P

+ Something more specific for the ladies (and because summer is coming up):
<8% bodyfat at 78 kg and finally get my cursed six pack

I still have no idea if 80kg in 1.5 years is reasonable :lol: As goals I want them to me more my minimum acceptable amount of progress rather than only just making it. Like I'm still going to try to bench 100kg in 2013, I just won't be surprised if I don't

I would but assuming those are IPF then I only have 10months left of being a junior rather than 22 so the maths gets scary, like 133kg squat by June

Squat +5 kg to 1,5 x BW (90 kg). This is going to happen.
Bench +5kg to 1 x BW (60 kg). Dont' think I could press my current pb at the moment, so maybe not so likely.
Pull/chin ups: 10 reps.

Climbing a "red" bouldering route and getting a solid handstand would also be nice!
