Did 'Tom' from Vegan Strength Germany win a world title?

Postby Lordmuppet » Wed Jan 19, 2011 7:47 am

I was having a look at the Vegan Strength Germany website and in the News part there was talk of someone winning a world title in age class in at the end of 2010. More info please?

Apologies if this is already posted somewhere (probably) :( I expected this sort of thing to be on power and strength, does records breaking/title winning live somewhere else? It would be kindof cool for it to have its own section.

"Tom on 13.11.2010 at the World Championships WDFPF (World Drug Free Powerlifting Federation) in Castleblyney, Ireland, the world title in the junior class will receive !

He also was in the old open class up to 75kg in third place. " (Google translated version)

Right
He won the wc title in his age class and placed third overall in his weight class
Dunno, if there´s a section for info like that
Don´t people normally tell us about that in the "coming up competitions" section?

its just that germans wanted to keep it a secret ;)

This section is perfect for announcing comp results - like other sections for their respective sports.

Share the love people! :)

 I love those google translations!

Tom hasn't won the third place in the old open class, but in the 75 k class, regardless of age. And he's won the first place in the junior class, as google more or less correctly translated. ;)

He did a great job there; federation was the world drug free pl federation. Sadly I don't think there are pics or vids, since he went there alone.

congrats!
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."

So other than Tom and Hannibal do we have any other title/record holders on the strength board?

dont think i have ever met a powerlifter with at least a bit of experience without some kind of title :D Numbers are so low in some categories and especially local meets that one might win a title by just turning up.

but thats nothing away from tom and hannibal who actually faced proper competition! More a comment against if likes of me used their powerlifting titles as some kind of bragging right :D

Yours,

North West BWLA Unequipped Bench Press Champion 2008

Ok let me try to sum up

I am/was Northrhine Westphalia Benchpressing Champion, Vice German Raw Powerlifting and Vice German Deadlifting Champion (all IPF) and maybe a future Loglifting and Weightlifting Champion ;)

Floey (devil´s plaything?) is/was Vice German Powerlifting Champion (WDFPF), Natural Bodybuilding Championship participant (WNBF) and Strongman Newcomer (GFSA)

Alex (Krypto) became Fitnessclass World Champion (NABBA?), so he could be called Fitness Mr Universe, and used to be a Strongman Newcomer (GFSA), too

Tom (bettlescheich) is/was the current World Powerlifting Champion (WDFPF), German RAW Deadlifting Champion (GRAWA), German Powerlifting Champion (WDFPF) and record holder (WDFPF), German RAW Powerlifting Champion (IPF), Vice German Deadlifting Champion (IPF), 2 times State (whatever state exactly he´s from ^^) Deadlifting Champion (IPF) and some other stuff

Oli (Xolix) is/was 2 x German Deadlifting Vice Champion (IPF), German RAW Deadlifting Vice Champion (GRAWA), 2 x Brandenburg Deadlifting Champion (IPF), Brandenburg Powerlifting Champion (IPF), German RAW Powerlifting Champion (IPF) and propably the strongest vegan on earth!

Marco (Marco[insert dot right here]Schröder) is/was German Powerlifting Vice Champion (IPF), 2 x German Powerlifting Team League Champion (IPF), 2 x German Powerlifting Team League Vice Champion (IPF) and some other things many years ago that we don´t know about, also he is a member of SV Motor Barth, which is one of the strongest powerlifting clubs in Germany and owns even IPF World Benchpressing Champions, by the way his benchmark kicks ass

Jakob (Jakob) at last is/was an excellent Strongman Newcomer (GFSA/though he doesn´t believe it), German RAW Powerlifting Champion and German record holder (WDFPF) and naturally ultrastrong, his great grandfather was said to having been able to lift two grown men up like in the crucifix hold strongman discipline (I just had to tell you that)

So yeah, ALL of our VSTG teammates hold titles ;)

Mellos... future titles don't count, and being a newcomer isn't really a title either

Furthermore (just to be precise...), winning the NABBA world championship is NOT the same as gainning the Mr. Universe title. (and you left out all my minor titles as well)

I just added that to tell that you did other sports as well but yeah it ain´t a title

That´s why I said that you COULD be called Fitness Mr Universe, not that you are

Kryptonite V wrote:(and you left out all my minor titles as well)

That were all the titles I knew, you´ll have to gild your butt yourself

in my opinion one of the most impressive titles among vegans in the iron game. You faced a lot of competition, in qualifying and there and came on top, whereas many other titles while massive achievements can still be won against way fewer opponents.

Its not so much what you win, but who you beat IMO. Which is why i dont bang on about my inBetweeners 105kg competition win as much. Ok i beat tons of awesome athletes to win it, and the comp was very tough, but it was top capped, as in the best guys were not in there because the comp was open only to those who hadnt qualified to the englands strongest finals yet.

Hmmm... its still probably my proudest achievement so far :)
