EATATHON - Germany vs Melbourne

Postby hannibal » Wed Jul 01, 2009 4:22 am

the long awaited eating battle between VSG and MVS is on this weekend.

the rules, as drafted by VSG and slightly modified by MVS are

- the final score will be the total of the calories taken in by the top 5 eaters from each team PLUS the average total calories taken in by all the other team participants
- only vegan foods are allowed of course
- it starts at 8am and ends at midnight - 16 hours in total (VSG eating on saturday July 4 and MVS eating on sunday July 5, local time. results to be made public after the last eater has finished)
- you have to eat something at least every 3 hours
- you have to eat at least 200 calories at a time, if you eat less they don't count.
- only a maximum of 20% of the calorie total is allowed to come from liquids, the rest must be solid food.
- puked calories count in neither direction and there is a 2 hour puking restriction period after the end of the competition
- the VSTG and MVS teams have to be named at least a day in advance.

the MVS team
talyn
hardcore iv
daniel
hannibal
patv
joel (will be eating on monday as he is unable to take part on the w-end)
andy (also unable to take part on sunday so has completed the eatathon early)
and possibly more to be announced by this friday

i think to make it as open as possible that anyone can take part if they declare their affiliation beforehand to MVS or VSG, but if they are not a member of MVS or VSG their calories can only count towards the average?

gentlemen, start your trash talking..

Ahh, they are scared, it's plain obvious. Newsflash MVS: It's not a popularity contest!

We'll see about that 8)
But JP, as you are so concerned, maybe you can support us? ;)

A seasoned powerbellybuilder like you probably would manage to eat enough to increase the average or the not-top-5 eaters of our team :D

- unless its broccoli eating contest which krypto would win HANDS DOWN!

there's some truth in that, though... i wanted protein and fibre minimum, and sugar maximum intake... but everyone else screamed "FAST FOOD, JUNK FOOD, SOFT DRINKS! PERFECT EXCUSE FOR JUNK FOOD BINGE EATING!!!" so i guess i was outvoted

New rule: if someone dies, the calories he had still count towards the team's total.

A glorious death 8)

I always wondered what went on in the Power and Strength part of the forum but was afraid to peek. I am now enlightened as to what you do here :)

I hope the numbers will be displayed not only by total calories but also with protein, fat and carbs!

wait, using averages means that recruiting extra, probably weaker, eaters would most likely hurt our total, whereas it could have the opposite result for VSG

i disagree, dying should be in the same category as puking, a clear failure to complete the task (even though it would still be a glorious and honourable death)

looking forward to sunday, i can hardly wait!

looking forward to it too. prepare to have your ass handed to you, VSG :P

dying via eatathon would be an unfortunate way to go, but at least it'd be memorable

note the vege hot dog on the counter.. that must have been the cause....

Will there be live webcams to evidence this insanity? How do we know you have actually consumed the calories?
