addlington push & pull monster lifts

Postby JP » Sun Jan 24, 2010 10:00 am

I "competed" yesterday at Addlington Push And Pull, more details about my lifts on my training log.

But the day was mostly about the beasts!

Check out Karl Grant with 200kg clean & jerk, and 330 deadlift

I believe this is the first time anyone has put 200 from floor to overhead in UK in at least 3 years.

Mark Clegg with 185/300:

Andy Littler 175/260:

VF member NattyBB nailed amazing PBs too, 130 overhead and 292.5kg deadlift:

I'll post adam travis' 185/255 when the vid is up too.

Awesome vids man.

I guess seeing lifts like that I can understand why your own PB didn't feel so satisfying (at the time I thought you should be cheerier about it).

Just had a look at this, most impressive! Your lifts weren't exactly shabby either, JP :D

hehe yeah, the good old big fish in small pond vs small fish in a fucking OCEAN!

That comp did give me some extra fire in my belly, so all is not lost.

I am not familiar with UK oly lifting near history, but it is a shame guys like Karl Grant, Mark and Trav are not in the teams anymore just two years out of the olympics being hosted in london.

And Ben/NattyBB is a monster for sure! I am going against him again in my next comp on 6th of march and wont have any chance of placing even near him. The guy is on fire - big things coming for him this season.

Your 300kg deadlift wouldn't be out of place in there though.

Do you ever do overhead?
