I need to get my Back Squat up to 135kg to propel me into the 430kg tussle on the strength table.

Why 135kg you may ask? Well I am following a 5/3/1 routine and if you held a mirror up to it (really try this) it says 135kg. Also my weight is soon to peak at 90kg, using simple maths to nail the 150% bodyweight mark 90x1.5 = 135kg . That and the beauty of having 2x20kg,1x10kg,1x5kg and 1x2.5kg plates each side of a bar just gets me fired up.

Who wants to Race?

With a 180kg dead you should be able to squat 135 right now. You just need to learn how.

so my routine would have me aim for 1kg? makes no sense!!!

and besides 137kg is 300 lbs ;)

Anyway, what needs nailing needs nailing!

I don't mean to have a go at you, but why not just make it a race to 140? It seems like more of a milestone lift, with 3 plates each side. Also, I'm pretty sure it's just Bronco and Johnboy74 who are still on a 430 kg total. My total is 450 now, soon to be 470, if things go to plan  :D

I will be your squat coach. You will get 140.

Tough crowd!
Ok, so its to 140kg then. Will need to recalculate my bodyweight goal to 93.333333kg

Thanks for the confidence there ninearms, will nail some learning and get it done.

I was wondering why you chose 135kg as your goal. Didn't realise it was based on some random numerological pattern of your routine. Like seeing a weeping jesus in your vegan jam doughnut.

Mid december will be tight for me, but I'm not making excuses. Time to start puffin' on that crackpipe.

See you at the finish line.

I'm in!

I agree though, 140 is the milestone I'm gunning for...

A 140 squat is most likely years away for me, with my squat sitting at 5 rep max of 87kg and my body weight sitting at 75kg. But fuck it Ill smoke some crack and jump in, maybe I will have similar success to the 100 push up challenge!

Haven't updated mine for a little while mate, it's now 455

And yeh 135 doesn't quite do it, 140 is much nicer aim 8)

I reckon that gives you a predicted 100 kilo 1 rep, 110kg by generic winter festival and 140kg easy in 6 months...

:D

Mmm...I used to do 305 in high school. It really is just a matter of getting the proper technique down and getting enough rest.
