My theory:
When you first do shot put you get a distance of X. Practising session after session and your distance is X +- %5. The only thing what changes is that you look a bit cooler while doing it.
I am getting no hip/leg/twist power to the shot at all, still just powering it away. Frustrating! Reminds me when i started to learn push pressing/jerking where i first did the leg drive, and then just pressed the bar anyway
