THIS THREAD CANT DIE!

It is one of the most important threads ON THE INTERNET!

My theory:

When you first do shot put you get a distance of X. Practising session after session and your distance is X +- %5. The only thing what changes is that you look a bit cooler while doing it.

I am getting no hip/leg/twist power to the shot at all, still just powering it away. Frustrating! Reminds me when i started to learn push pressing/jerking where i first did the leg drive, and then just pressed the bar anyway :D

Your theory sounds plausible.

Will be bringing along the shot to the next MVS session. My technique has improved a bit so hopefully I can jump a place on the table.

Shot put is hella cool. Reading this thread makes me want to throw again. Wish I had one out here.

I can't believe how high I am on the table - I should be getting destroyed by all the huge strong guys and even girls on this forum. I suspect THEY FEAR TO PUT THE SHOT.

I'm going outside to throw a rock around.

Why is spug not on the table? Early claims of 11m. Would put him way out in front if he could measure it.

powerlifting & shot put = marriage made in heaven.

running on the other hand doesnt fit in well with neither of them two, but can have merits on its own :D

You could run to pick up your shot after putting it.

:D good idea maybe i should combine that with basketball, throw the ball from where the shotput landed and carry the shotput to it´s throwing position..that would look weird :P

Thought I would bump this as I intend to throw a PB in the next few weeks. Threw X, 8.31 and 8.82m in comp today. Slowly creeping toward my current PB.
