Ok, since the winning total of the currently running wightlifting world championships for the 48kg womens class was 220kg, i thought it is an apt total to aim for that in the near future.

Does anyone want to join me in the race to it?

Rules: Oly lifting rules, keep it clean! NO PRESSOUTS!

Snatch + clean & jerk 8)

-----------------------------------

TARGET: 220kg TOTAL

Lifter - snatch - clean & jerk - total - amount left

bronco - 96 + 116 - 212kg - 8g left
JP - 91 + 120 = 211 - 9kg left
spug - 75 + 120 = 195 - 25kg left - static target, wont improve in years
xCx - 80 + 110 = 190 - 30kg left
mellos - 70 + 100 = 170 - 50kg left
baldy - 65 + 101 = 166 - 54kg left
ninearms - 52.5 - 70 - 122.5kg - 97.5

You have the strength, big front squats, doing strong overhead work, like on strict pressing and so on. You just dont do that much plain snatches and clean & jerks, so many weird assistance exercises being drilled :D

Your numbers should climb fast if you just attack it man. Hit that snatch! (sounds kinky...)

And bronco, some room in the c&j for sure man.

Table updated for ninearms and bronco!

Yeah, just a little improvement in technique combined with a slight increase in strength should get me to 120kg in no time :D .

Eh? I do tons of plain Oly lifts! I C&J on Tuesday and Friday, snatch on Thursday and Friday. Last session I did 22 singles in the squat clean. Tomorrow I have another 20 singles planned. I just do lots of other stuff afterwards (although that's mostly pulls and squats)! Hopefully should be back on the jerks next week - neck feels about 95% now.

ok my bad ninedude, sorry, must read your log with more care

but dont you agree that you have a lot of the base strength nailed for making gains and closing that gap faster?

I agree - that's actually the reason behind hitting the squats heavy and often - so the Oly stuff feels light and thus I can lift it consistently, with good technique, and so it's less intimidating to get under. So, for example, I can consistently pull 100kg high enough to squat clean with solid form, and hit the same positions as my squat clean, for triples - I just don't quite have the bottle to get under it yet. But as my squats go up 100kg begins to feel lighter and lighter all the time, both physically and psychologically.

My overhead strength is pretty shit, but it's getting better.
