:D nice one, nothing like a training partner to keep you on your toes!

Good to have you on board mate, we've seen your lifts on some stuff ryan has posted about the odd object lifting sessions you've had. Good stuff!

Thank you for welcoming me. I am quite verbose and tend to post relentlessly. Please feel free to tell me to shut my feeding hole.

john,
i am interested in switching to sumo style. right now i feel like i am bending over way too much in the conventional stance. can you give me some pointers on how to do a proper sumo deadlift? one disclaimer: i keep both my palms facing down and am not interested in changing that grip. the over under twists up my back.

David,

If you can deadlift using both hands with overhand grip you are more of a man than I. My hand strength is quite pathetic, but Ryan has been helping me with that.

Speaking of Ryan, he and I are going to deadlift tonight and I will try to remember to bring a camera with me so I can shoot pictures and video shorts. That should offer you some assistance on performing a sumo-stance deadlift vs. the conventional stance. You will be able to see both because I use sumo and Ryan uses conventional.

One thing to be careful of with either form is allowing your bum to get too high up into the air. So some of the bending over feeling you get may be due to that, it is a common issue.

Hope the forthcoming photo's and video's will help.

Regards,
