Hello!

Hi everyone,
I'm new here, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

I just went almost vegan for health reasons. Almost, because I eat fish and seafood, for practical reasons, because where I live (Japan), seafood is good and relatively cheap, and I'm not ready to phase it out because of its nutritional benefits and abundance.

It's been a week so far. I used to be a vegetarian, so giving up meat this time was extremely easy for me. But this is the first time I've given up diary, so it's interesting.

So far I feel great. I should mention that I'm also a runner (amateur, maybe 30K a week tops). So obviously I pay attention to my diet and how it affects my performance.

I gotta say the long runs feels easier, I seem to have more stamina.

But there's one slight problem, I'm not sure if it's dairy, but now I have to go to the toilet like 5 times a day, haha. My theory is my body is getting rid of all that dairy crap (used to have skim milk cereal and 3 yoghurts a day). What do you think?

This forum is extremely informative and I'm glad I have found it and joined. Thanks everyone for sharing so much knowledge!

you might have increased your fibre intake and hence why you go to the toilet more often ?

welcome to the board hopefully before long we will have weaned you off the fish and seafood. fish and seafood are far from essential for health and environmentally damaging....

good luck with your running :D

the health "benefits" of eating our friends from the high seas are mostly fairytales.

Next time, I'll spend the money on drugs instead.
