Fitness boxing

Postby violetti » Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:22 pm

I'm all excited of next Monday. Then a fitness boxing course for beginners will start and I'll be there. Have someone experiences of fitness boxing? Or is just boxing better :D

I think I'll get a better condition during the course and at the same time I do other sports. The course is only 8 times but I think I'll continue. I have done some boxing exercises at circuit training and my shoulders and upper back really like that kind of training. I have already checked the websites of boxing clubs at Turku :D

edit: I'm not sure if fitness boxing is martial arts or other sports thus sorry if this topic is in the wrong section.

my krav maga teacher also trains fitness boxing, so we somehow do this as well...
it's pretty nice and exhausting, but also very much fun!
especially some loud music and a person shouting "faster! harder, keep your hands up!"
:D
"anti-german" for dummies
please spell me : x : :)
honestly, stop the vegan-snuff-video-madness!

every class is different, but my experience has been that Fitness Boxing's focus is fitness and Boxing's focus is, well, the sport of boxing. in Boxing class, you'll have a lot more focus on form. Fitness Boxing is (usually) concerned with keeping your muscles moving and keeping your heart-rate up. you don't need to throw a perfect jab, cross or hook to sweat.
for cardio-vascular training, Fitness Boxing is a very respectable routine, but if you want to learn Boxing, whether you intend to compete or not, that's what you should study. either will kick your butt, and i'm guessing that's what you're looking for. good luck, and CHEERS! on your choice. :D

It was so great! The instructor is very nice and supporting. As cardio-vascular training it was so cool! After the lesson I feel so good and I think I'll strech although usually I skip it... My practise pair was handsome which is all bonus
