yeah the standard has been pretty poor but the last fight was something else.

Kind of feel bad for the other guy, because it did look like he was able to hold his composure and do some work under relentless continuing strong and talented attack, he could have nailed one of the easier ones for sure. But thats just how it is...

You think they are putting CB against a striker so that he cant go out on a fluke submission?

I don't like CB, I want him to lose. Something tells me that Cale is going to win.

i found myself thinking the same :D

Which is why the season finale ROCKED!

Amir was one of my favs from the start - i had a suspicion that he was "holding back" and playing the underdog. Maybe he really didnt know what he was cabable of, but i suspect that he did know he is right up there and was playing the mental game to the fullest.

I like his stand up style, and groundwork is not too bad either. takedown defence sucks big ass tho, and its gringeworthy to see him going down...

fantastic final (well, the real final) fight.

Looking forward to the decider!

Amir has impressed me a lot, the guy has been an underdog the whole season and came out on top.

I hope he beats CB again, cause it'll be messed up if CB wins the contract because of a second chance, when Amir already beat him. Besides it's hard not to like the guy, he's a lot more humble than CB and never seems to have any quit in him.

I think he's got real potential. Basically someone with zero experience in pro fights comes in and wins the show. Seems like a good guy too, hope he has a successful career.

Watched some of the fights from the finale, really shocked that Amir won. Going through the show I thought he had no chance.

What does that say about the quality of the fighter they're signing up for TUF though? And when you consider that the leap between TUF and UFC main event isn't so large, what does it say about the strength of the UFC overall?

well amir didn't have any pro MMA fights he had won his 5 amateur fights plus i'm not sure of his record but was a pro muay thai fighter as well. it's not like he hadn't been in the fight game at all.

Watching the first episode of the new TUF now.

Guida - reminided me of Will Ferrell in that ice skating movie when he's trying to make weight :D

I like the idea of fighting to get into the house, but it does mean that the first couple of shows are just guys you have no knowledge of fighting. Then subsequent shows are pressed for time and you don't get to see as much training or get to know the fighters as well.

I'd keep the first round of fights, but just show some highlights of the fights as pre-amble to the fights in the house. Maybe put the first round of fights up on the web early as an appetiser.

Ah well, first fight on now :)

yeah the new set up does reduce the time they spend on following the training and stuff like that which i think is the best part of the show. but they will still show all the drinking and jock bullshit which is totally boring...

Some right cocky bastards in this season though

the fight was ok - maybe because both were pretty weak punchers so they could carry on landing shots :)

Good to see raw talent like that though, clear weak areas and elementary mistakes, and it will be interesting to see the development of these guys in the coming years. Not sure if this guy is the winner material for 155...

As for the episode itself - again, half of the time spent on jock macho ass bullshit, with the biggest idiot taking most of the airtime and commentary - i guess the message is, bigger idiot you are, more tv time you get :?

i guess they dont want to kick him out of the house so that they can get more interesting bullshit tv.

Spike.com has some training session clips online as well which looked interesting.

anderson silva on the next episode - whoah! there is a clip of him doing training session on spike.com as well.
