Citizen's initiative against vivisection in the EU

Postby Linnéa76 » Mon Sep 09, 2013 9:20 am

In case anyone has missed this, please sign and spread this petition:

https://ec.europa.eu/citizens-initiativ ... do?lang=en

1 million signatures are needed and I think they have about 620 000 at this point, with 52 days remaining.

Bumping this - still about 170 000 signatures needed to reach 1 million.

Good news, they have over 1 million signatures now!

This means that the citizen's initiative will be discussed at a public hearing in the European Parliament and
that the European Commission must make an assessment and communicate their standpoint.

That is great! I feel a little extra for this as my sister has her name as one of the organizers and that wasn't exactly popular with all of her colleagues. It actually makes me very hopeful that one million people signed this, that's a lot of people showing some heart.

I know, I wasn't really sure they'd reach a million but I'm very glad they did! Your sister can be proud. :)
