FREE PREMIERE of Vegucated in Bristol

Postby alanyst » Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:57 am

Bristol is hosting a FREE PREMIERE of the inspiring veganism-promoting documentary film Vegucated next month.

Vegucated is both a comedy and a sociological experiment that depicts lightheartedly three New Yorkers who loved meat and dairy, but volunteered to go vegan for six weeks because of their concerns for health. About three weeks into their vegan journey, they discovered the shocking truths of animal cruelty behind the animal agriculture industry which they supported not so long ago. They gained a whole new perspective of the food they ate, and swore not to consume food with animal products again. But was going vegan all plain sailing for them? And how would they deal with customary dinners and gatherings with carnivorous cousins, families and friends?

To convince you that vegans actually have a refined taste for good food just as everyone does, we've included some extra activities. Here is the schedule:

1:00 - 1:30 pm: Vegan snacks

1:30 - 2:45 pm: Film

3:00 - 3:30 pm: Discussion (panel includes Tim Barford from Yaoh and VegFest, and Shane Jordan)

3:30 - 3;45 pm: Vegfam presentation by Tim Barford

4:00 - 4:40 pm: Raw cooking demo by Rebecca Kane from Shine on Raw

4:40 - 5:00 pm: Raffle prize draw and feedback

All donations and profits from the event go to Vegfam, a charity which donates food to people from very poor countries WITHOUT EXPLOITING ANIMALS.
