Austrian activists found not guilty

Postby bronco » Mon May 02, 2011 9:45 am

Excellent news: The thirteen austrian activist who was imprisoned for three months in 2008, and whose trial in Wiener Neustad has lasted more than a year, have been found not guilty on all charges :D !
[quote="JP"]Spirulina is a badass crew, and they often just hang around in street corners looking to beat up proteins.

They oftenget confused by the fact that they are almost half protein themselves.

I'm glad of the outcome of this fairytale-process (a totally invented story). Unfortunately all of the accused have high debts due to lawyer costs, not being able to work during the process etc. AND the most tragic aspect I think is, that the father of one of them committed suicide afther his son was imprisoned. I don't know the son in person, but I can immagine that his life will never be the same again and I can just wish him to be able to deal with it and find back to a "normal" life and find joy again...

good news - the only sane outcome of that utterly crazy case which should have never even been started!

Very good news, but its totally wrong that they endured prison and now have high legal costs hanging over them.

awesome win!

Now for some justice and compensation? Holy moly.
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."

Awesome stuff. High water mark for the unnecessary persecution of peaceful activism in Europe? We can but hope...

Great news, I really hope they get very well compensated though.

How anyone can be imprisoned with no evidence is just beyond me :(

there are rumours saying that this process was asked for by some owners of big clothing companies that sell fur. they just wanted to get the activists (that gained more and more influence in politics and among the population) out of the way. there will be a book published about the backgrounds of this process (http://www.veganversand-lebensweise.at/ ... e2274dc962) so far only in german, I don't know if there will be an english translation.
