Walk to Brighton through the longest night

Postby mabli » Sun Oct 31, 2010 10:31 am

Chloe and a couple of others and I are walking to Brighton from London or Guildford through the night of 21st December, solstice or the longest night. We aim to go from dusk to dawn (via a couple of pubs along the way)

We'd love it if more vf folk joined us, even for just a few miles :D :D

It'll be a good end to the year, maybe we can organise a meal before we set off too

OK, so we are just walking from Guildford to Brighton now, as long as there isnt snow if folk fancy joining us... :-)

I'm welsh, if we let rain stop us doing anything we'd spend most of our lives indoors! :D

What a shame; this sounded like an excellent idea.

I'm up for this kind of thing in general, though I need to get a few months worth of salary in the bank before I can go on trips away.

Brilliant stuff!! We'll set a date for Yorks 3 Peaks soon and I'll post on here, should be in April. Will be a good tester for fitness for the 15 Peaks, which is a killer tbh :-)

Going to do a local one to me called Oggie 8 in Aug, we HAVE to win that, last year we should have come in second but we got hopelessly lost and ended up having a massive argument about the ethics of vegans eating team members when lost in moutains... it got nasty when we decided in a worse case scenario we'd eat the fattest first and he got offended :-(

Would be good to have one vegan/ar charity for folk to raise cash for but that may be optimistic

Only the vegans and fortysomething criminology PhD students would have this problem!

Apparently the bit between thumb and index finger (the anatomical snuffbox) is the best cut on a human, but in the circumstances some Kendal mint cake would do perhaps?

Britain is technically a neighbouring country, so I'm definitely interested as well!

I don't mind being eaten, as long as you kill me first. I'm mainly bone, but there should be some decent soup in there at least. And considering my diet I probably taste like chocolate ;)
