London meetup Wednesday 20 October

Postby tal » Wed Oct 06, 2010 7:20 pm

Hey Londoners

Planning a get together for Wednesday 20 October, to welcome Kalibaby back to this part of the world before she leaves it again for India.

Who's up for it?

Open to suggestions for venue.

I arrive in London on the 19th! Very suboptimal, how long is Kali around for? Also I saw a poster up for the anarchist bookfair happening the following weekend I think?

Yes, there will be loads of vegans in London the following weekend for this
http://www.anarchistbookfair.org.uk/
and other events. I aim to be in London that weekend, also.

The bookfair is a really laid-back, sociable event that attracts people from all over Europe. If people reading this go, don't try and get food inside the hall, get some of the cheap all-vegan food that funds the event from the street stall just outside.

I will be going to the bookfair as well - perhaps you could start a seperate thread for that?

The following weekend would have been the most logical, but Kali is leaving on the 21st, so it's a bit of a slap-patch job organising something.

May i propose a meetup in Belgrade/Toxic city instead, with sauna, knifefighting, mma, disco lifting and stuffing ourselves with tofu instead???

COME ON KALI!!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!

Ok so the date for this has changed, it will now be this coming Wednesday 20 October.

Kali has suggested one of the veg buffets? I reckon if you want chinese food to go to Peking Palace in Holloway - it's about maybe 20 minutes away from the city centre.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Large multinational corp has changed its mind and now I am not going to London next week. It is so infuriating!

Oh man come on! Your employer = suboptimal.

Pinch some extra soy yogurts from them as compensation.

You have no idea! The new employer does not even have free yofurts or soya milk if the internet connection and company laptop was not so fast I would leave.

"They" are talking about me coming the following week but who knows, bastards.

No free yogurt or soya milk? Priorities mate, priorities :)

Fair enough though, what can you do ...

Well if you do manage to get over here we can catch up for a training session at least.

Every time we have one the resolution is to organise them on a regular basis... then we all get too busy and it doesn't happen :)

There is no reason why it couldn't happen though, you are welcome to organise one!
