mrpotatohead says hello

Postby mrpotatohead » Fri May 14, 2004 9:12 am

Hello everyone,

I must admit I did visit a while ago, only passing, and it was very quiet then. Wow, haven't times changed. Looking forward to learning and contributing. :)

Hello Mr Potato Head!

Glad to see you here. Yep, we are a noisy bunch - but very friendly. I have to ask, why Mr Potato Head? You don't look like him do you? My son reads this board over my shoulder occasionally, and he was bemused that a character off one of his favourite shows was writing on the board.

I would like to say I look like Xena Warrior Princess, but too many people on this board know me. Say hello to the kids. Tell me now, is that their real names?

welcome to the board spud! Hope youll like it here.

Could you please put your location to your profile as well please? Cheers!

It's pretty wicked how the board has grown - and hopefully keeps on growing. Are you into any kind of training/sports or just into vegan stuff? :D

Welcome again!

Thanks for the welcome. Ok, so I'm not really the real mrpotatohead, sorry to disappoint you all I'm sure, he's just a plastic play thing, oh wait a minute.

welcome to the board spud!

As I'm amongst friends, you can call me spud if you wish. I've been called worse. :)

Just found a pic of myself, I look a bit mashed though. I'm an every day commuting cyclist, doing about 6 miles each way, every day, all weathers, no fair weather cyclist me. I go to the gym at weekends, but usually to do a little running, and medx. Nothing like some of the guys on here. Became veggie around 96 ish, and vegan around 2000.

Mary, are you anything to do with realfood :?:

Neil and I set up Realfood about two years ago, to do vegan campaigning - we do the vegan buddies scheme, www.isitvegan.info free food fairs and had our first vegan festival this time last week. (God, doesn't time fly!)

We spoke on the phone a few times about my egg, or missing eggs order. Hello again.

No, still eggless. From the feedback I've seen about them, they would have been much appreciated by whoever received them. I'll try them at the London Vegan fest, you are there aren't you :?:

Oh yes. I think I remember talking to you. You wanted to pick them up in London didn't you? Well, I couldn't let you down now, could I?

I showed my son your avatar, and he laughed his head off. So cool choice!

I'm making my way through many previous posts. Really good advice by many people, I wish I'd joined sooner.

I'd better say hello to Billy. I sent you a pm on planetveggie. Hello. I made a donation to Tower Hill Stables' feed merchants this week. Fiona does such a great job. Isn't she a star. In her email reply, she said I should ask how your rescue dog is :?: From his pic, he looks lovely. :)

Hi Mr Potatohead!

Cheers for sending me the pm, I've registered there as well, although so far I've been too busy yapping for England on this board to make any contributions on the other one :)
Glad that you made a donation to Tower Hill Stables and plugging the site on worldvegan day. Fiona is doing an incredible job, and deserves all the support she can get!
So she's told you to ask me about Malcolm eh? I wonder if she knows what she's done! This could become a VERY long post you see!
I'll keep it short, as we're about to go out on a day long walk in the hills. I know everybody says this about their loved ones, be they human or nonhuman, but I just so happen to think that Malcolm is the greatest of all canines in the world! He is sooo sweet, funny, gorgeous, smart, cheeky etc etc (I said I was trying to keep this short!). I've had him living with me for just over 2 years now and I love him to bits! If you're catching up on posts, just about every other post of mine will mention Mal in some kind of way.
Anyway, best get going now, as we are supposed to be off in a wee bit. I'll log our adventures in my training log if you really want to know all about "a day in the life of Malcolm and Billy" :)

See ya!

I've said it before, and I will say it again. Mr Potato Head does not look like a potato. :? This here is false advertising. :x Just thought I should warn other newbies.
