Yes, I freely admit I was naive, big time naive. I have never had any contact with vegans in real life.

But no where have I tried to seek support for eating animals. I think NOT eating non-vegan items is the most optimal for your health, but I am human and am not prefect. I would prefer and recommend someone not to eat any non-vegan foods for their health.

I simply stated on my website and here that just because someone is a vegan doesn't necessarly mean they are eating optimally either. I have read many post on here and I read where people say they are eating "crap" or "junk" many times so obviously many here are not prefect either.

My point is just because you are eating vegan don't full yourself into thinking you are eating optimally or even healthy. Some may be, some maybe not.

The part I liked about the "About Vegan Fitness" section was this.

"The goal of the board is to become an active and thriving community of people sharing information, learning from each other and empowering themselves in the process."

That is all I was trying to do. But since I admitted to eating a few non-vegan items it appears anything else I have to say is not heard.

I am not here to disrespect vegans, to cause trouble or to fight with anyone. I only wish to say that eating vegan is not always prefect, of course it depends on what the person is eating.

I think the problem here is that you are viewing Veganism as a diet.

I must be doing something wrong... My version of "junk" is incredibly healthy in the eyes of most people around me.

Perhaps what you also need to understand, is that some vegans do not care if the food they eat is 'unhealthy', or if someone with a puritan stance thinks it is 'unhealthy'; because the point of them being vegan may be an ethical, ideological or political decision.

So with that in mind, please respect the fact that we don't all need re-education.

Can I summarise?

If you do non-vegan things (eg the site), don't bring them on here.

Vegans aren't neccesarily health-concious people. Overwhelmingly were driven by ethics regarding animal treatment. Some vegans live very unhealthy lives and are cool with that.
