Hello from Sweden

Postby Kaye » Tue Feb 14, 2012 6:53 pm

Hi All
I'm a long time vegetarian recently turned vegan who is into olympic weightlifting, powerlifting and kettlebelling. I have just moved from the UK to Uppsala in Sweden and would be very grateful for any tips regarding good places to train and eat!
Thanks, Kaye

Hello & Welcome Kaye! :D

I really want to visit Uppsala and of course Stockholm and - ok, pretty much all/any of Sweden! Are you going to university there?

Welcome! I grew up in Uppsala. Good places to eat: Golden China www.kinakrogen.se , Fröja Sal http://www.frojassal.se and Mesob http://www.messob.se IMO the best places to eat in Uppsala. I recommend training at cross fit Uppsala if your'e interested in that kind of training. A great place.

Thanks all!
I'll check these places out. Tried to have lunch at 'Fröjas sal' last weekend but unfortunately they're only open Mon-Fri.
In response to loveliberate's question I'm not at uni here. Moved for work and to improve my quality of life and so far so good.
Been to UTK gym: http://www.utkgym.se and they have everything you need for power/olympic lifting (or bodybuilding if you like) and the staff were nice and friendly.

UTK is great. I used to live in Tunabackar so it was super close. Bad opening hours but cheap and a great place to lift weights.
