Hi guys, just registered so I thought I'd introduce myself. There looks like a lot of good information here, I'm looking foward to browsing the threads and posting some of my own. I live in Vancouver, BC Canada. I have been a vegan for just over 2 years. I was influenced after I heard a talk by John Robbins then read his book, "Diet For a New America." I was highly influened by that book. I become vegetarian a few years ago for health reasons but it didn't last. I am still intereted in health but believe that my commitment to not contribute to animal cruelty will sustain my vegan diet for years to come. I used to be quite active in sports but have a hip complication which prevents me from taking part in most activities. I can however bike which I have started to do quite a bit. I don't know too many other vegans so this will be nice to be amoung other vegans. My diet is pretty static so I'm hoping to learn about different recipes and new and exciting things about the vegan lifestyle. I'm looking forward to ways I can improve my health and contribute some of what I know through this forum.

Look forward to meeting some of you and becoming part of this community.

Talk to you later,
Chris

Hi Chris!
I just joined for basically the same reasons - to be in regular contact with other vegans, as well as learning more about health and interesting recipes.
So we're basically in the same boat.

Hiya Chris,

welcome to the board and nice one for joining! :) It's really busy here, so if you have any questions, fire away and someone with a lot of knowledge will reply shortly no doubt. I'm afraid I'm not one of them (with the knowledge that is), as I tend to stick to the 'natter' sections  I do work out, and my thing is walking with my handsome 'man', pictured left :)There are a few cyclists on the board and I'm sure you'll find them in no time to 'talk shop'.
Hope you enjoy it here, see ya!

Hey, Chris,

You can bike with a hip problem?! That's great. I bet you need to keep it strong? I enjoy being outdoors, but running is my thing :)

Nice to meet you and welcome!

Hey nice to hear from you guys. Ya, biking is one of the few activities I can do. Swimming is another, but I was never much of a swimmer.

I'll see you all around.

Welcome Chris!!! :D :D :D

You wouldn't be by chance Chris from Earthsave too? I noticed you are from BC and you mentioned John Robbins  .

This place is GREAT!!! The best board/forum on the web by far! I have learned so much here and it is a very safe place to be and talk about veganism!!! Plus of course the best place for health and fitness advice, tips, motivation and support!!!

Good to see you here Chris! :D
