Hello,

I just joined up and wanted to introduce myself.

Me and my wife are both in our thirties and have been vegetarians for a couple of years now. We stay away from eggs and dairy most of the time, but would like to cut them out completely.

I have been lifting weights for the last three years, and most of that time was spent trying to find a routine that worked for me. At this moment I feel pretty good about my workouts and my diet, but I look forward to learning anything I can from the people on this site.

Hey, Marker,
Glad to see you're trying to give up dairy and eggs. What exactly would you like to replace? There are alternatives to most dishes :)

Is your wife gonna join up too?:)
Do you do any other exercise besides lifting?

Nice to meet you,

Strix :)

Hi Marker, welcome to the board! It's the right place to be for going vegan mate :D

Dropping eggs and dairy sounds easy, and it is, but it does mean more than just dropping them out, especially if you have relied on them in the past. Small tweaks in dietary habits and you (and the chickens and cows!)are sorted :)

Hello again,

I realize there are alternatives to milk and eggs, and we do use them when we cook from scratch. But some of the convenient prepacked veg foods we like still contain one or the other.

As far as other exercise goes, I ride a stationary bike for my cardio work. I used to use a treadmill but it was hard on my knees.

Thats a "good" thing actually, because it's much easier to go vegan when you don't have to make any structural changes to your food habits - thats of course assuming that you have a good and balanced vegan diet as a base :D

Any questions, just fire away mate, there are loads of knowledgeable and helpful people here, the pooled amount of knowledge is getting pretty impressive me thinks :)
