Hi! I'm so glad I found this board :)

a little about me - I'm in my late twenties...my husband and I went vegan about 18 months ago...I'm gradually becoming a fitness FREAK...I love trying new and different things for fitness...I've been doing the gym thing for about 2 years now as well as a weekly pole dancing class that kicks my butt!

see y'all around the board!

Nice to see you. Let me guess, you kick your own butt? Glad you and hubby both went vegan - it makes things so much easier to have a like minded partner!

Hi, Rhi,
Did you influence your husband to go vegan or vice versa ?
Nice to meet you :)

Five sovereign fingers taxed the breath,
Doubled the globe of dead and halved a country;
These five kings did a king to death."

hi Mary! hi Strix!

my husband actually influenced me to go vegan. he had been vegetarian for 13 years. he sent me a link to read and then we both followed link after link one afternoon, and decided then and there that we had to go vegan. it's so true - having a "partner in crime" makes being vegan a lot easier. although, looking back I feel badly for having eaten meat in front of my hubby!

Hi Rhi, I know what you mean about becoming a fitness freak :D . I feel the same, you can't drag me from the gym or my martial arts class! Do you have any fitness goals right now? Like gaining weight, loosing weight, having fun, getting more flexible, etc?

Hi Crystal :)
It's so cool to be excited and happy about fitness...I never was in the past. Now, I wish I could get my husband to enjoy it more! Every time we go to the gym, it's - "I hate this wretched place!"

My fitness goals are to have fun, maintain my weight, be healthy and gain strength...increased flexibility is always good...I've noticed that my flexibility just continues to increase.

how about yourself?

Hiya!
A belated 'welcome', as I was without internet for 3 weeks  Fortunately a good fairy came round and made everything alright again and now I'm living happily ever after! :D
Great that both you and hubby went vegan! Nevermind what you've eaten in the past, you're vegan now and that's all that counts!
Just checked your profile, to see who the gorgeous avatar is of. Nice to meet Sid too, please don't hesitate to tell us all about him! As you'll probably guess, the handsome guy on the left is "my" dog, Malcolm - hence the nick. I can write pages and pages about him, but I'm afraid that will land me with a suspension - if anything because 2 of the moderators of this board are being updated regularly about all his shenannigans in person
Pole dancing sounds cool - how did you end up doing that? It's definitely summin different!
Anyway, better shut it, got a tendency to yabber on.

Nice one for joining and see you round!

hee hee! I can write tons about Sid too! He's my buddy! Malcolm is adorable. How old is he? Our big guy is almost 16. He's slow, but he's awesome!! When I hear my hubby's stories of Sid as a pup, I almost can't believe it! :D He's also the most popular dog on the block. He's got a lot of fans! I love the fact that everyone else loves him so much too.

about the pole dancing, a friend of mine that I reconnected with about a year ago told me about it. She told me it would change my life, and it has. It's not just pole dancing, it also involves movement that incorporates yoga and pilates-like moves. It's the kind of "meditation" and work out I've been searching for. Check it out! www.sfactor.com
