Vegan protein bars at Decathlon

Postby xJimx » Wed Aug 29, 2012 11:56 am

Unless I'm missing something these things look vegan to me:http://www.decathlon.co.uk/vegetable-35-bar-id_8193865.html#Product_information

Aptonia is Decathlon's in-house nutrtion brand so you won't find these anywhere else.

Decent macros & price - 17.5g protein per bar, £5 for a box of 5. Going to Decathlon this weekend I think so will check 'em out.

May contain traces of: shellfish, eggs, fish, peanuts, milk, nuts, sulfur dioxide and sulphites, sesame, mustard, celery, lupin and molluscs.

The "traces of" don't worry me, as they're just covering their backs, but I am intrigued by the lupins and molluscs.

I never heard of people having a problem with sesame seeds, mustard, celery or lupin beans.

Nice find!

I was there just the other day to get a new pack - wish this thread was here before that!

Let us know how they are, from the picture they look rather healthy.

Review: OK not great. Extremely sweet which ain't surprising looking at the ingredients, and actually this fact will be useful for the reason I need them (as snacks for an endurance event), so just taste of sugar basically.

Cheaper than Builders etc but nowhere near as tasty IMO.

Decathlon also now sell chocolate flavout soya protein powder in their stores; not tried this though.

I agree, they're very sweet and taste a little stale. I tried the protein powder, also quite sweet but ok.

I bought some of these bars. They are really nice, kind of like a rice-crispies bar.

Would recommend.

Yeah I have to say despite my lukewarm initial review I actually quite enjoyed them; would definitely buy again.
