I would love to get slipons like these but not sure if they have leather around the back of the ankle.

ouch.. that may be true, i've just checked all three pairs i have and they seem to have something like leather but there is no description of the materials used to say if it's leather or not. doesn't feel like it by the touch and look of it.. :/

I tried taking a pair apart in the shop and did not figure out if its leather or not. No labels or anything that I can find.

Well I only really fancied a pair of slip ons after I saw them in the Bink 182 music video. Sad but true.

I fear I am getting old, everyone seems to be wearing skinny black jeans and those damn converse shoes that always look like they are about to fall apart.

my current vegan vans are almost ready for retirement after about 18months hard use. vans do a range of skate shoes which are prominently advertised as vegan-friendly (the only big co to do this to my knowledge)
check out all the vans models with rowley in their name. designed to be hard wearing and worn/endorsed by a vegan pro.
the shops i tried in the high street only do casual vans which are not vegan but skate shops should have them.

I pretty much live in Vans and have about a half dozen pairs of these. I have an email from Vans telling me that these are vegan, but I've also been told by a pro-eatanythingwithabrain ex-vegan that they're not vegan, so I feel like contacting Vans again to ease my mind whenever I where them.
