Do the math - 2 servings provide almost the guideline protein intake, lets say an average person can stomach 4 servings in a day. That's still less than a thousand calories!!!!!

That's one hell of a diet

I'm in the airforce and subject to random drug testing.

Will hemp protein make me have a positive result on the drug test? I'd like to try vega but the hemp protein makes me nervous.

Oh no, hemp protein is totally different than the drug. It won't make you piss hot! I got drug tested a few times when I worked for Wal-mart and it was always fine.

Yea i think there's something like .02% THC in the seeds because it's from a different plant than let's say dank or something. Plus it's processed so there's even less/none.

according to http://www.kyang.ang.af.mil/9902/020499.htm air force members are not allowed to use any hemp products. I guess even if there is a .01% chance i'd get busted, thats enough chance for me.

Completely off topic, but if I remember correctly they had problems with ppl that had eaten rolls with poppy seeds getting caught in drug screenings some years back. :? :D

sxevegan, that's pretty rediculous. It may be the anarchist/socialist bastard inside of me but i get the evil/funny feeling they're doing that for political/economical reasons and nothing more.

I don't know if you can double check with your superiors. Depends on if they're nice or not. Don't want to stereotype or anything, but something funy tells me you're one of probably 10 vegans in the entire armed forces. They might just tell you to buck up and get some whey protein. Hopefully i'm wrong.

Either that or you are having flashbacks to a very funny episode of Seinfeld.

Haven't seen that many Seinfeld episodes... Or rather I have seen more than I wanted to. :D

i just ordered the 3 flavors single serving packets, the book and the fitness video. What can i say. the myvega.com website hooked me. Plus i have been tring to go more raw altough i do love clif bar products... i can be a lot of sugar.

Anyways i liked the book, movie was good (Both guys were very cute  ) i tries the natural and didnt liek it but my friend did and i am going to try the other flavors soon. And if they dont taste good by them selves i will start mixing them with other stuff.

Read the book thrive... it is a best seller and talkes about vega and nutrition.

Ok i know this post was beaten to death but after trying all three flavors... i did like the berry the best and how i have just added it to my morinign fresh juice (i use my juicer to make a fruit juice). The aftretaste is wierd. And the green does keep thowing me off.

I bought it from food fight which was the cheapest I found. $60 for the large container and if you buy two it goes done to $54 and shipping was only eight dollars for the 2 containers to chicago. So I am happy that that will save me money. But will probally use more when cycling season starts. www.foodfight.com

Plus the product does warn that you can go through a detox effect when taking the product, the same is true when you switch to a more raw diet. Of course some have more to detox than others. Which symptoms of detox are: head aches, body aches, skin challenges, excess mucous, PMS, body odor, halitosis, bowel irregularities, soul searching... etc.

Now the was to speed up the detoxification is fasting, eating sweet fruit, aerobic excersize, sauna, massage, skin brushing, and my favorite... orgasm ( no kidding it is in books, it also helps you sleep and get rid of mentraul cramps ;).
slowing down detox is eating fatty foods, using salt, anaerobic excersize, eating cooked startches (plus all those nasty things liek eating meat & diary)

My personal symptom is usually headaches, which i have right now. I hope this helps at least one person! and doesnt annoy too many others

What's the difference between Vega and an orgasm: You can beat Vega, you can't beat a... (sorry everyone  )

Where did you see about vega causing the effects of detoxification. I'm quite sceptical about detox, and the claims for detox-promoting substances other than lots of water to be honest.

Vega definitely gives you gas when you first start. The detox things that she is talking about seems to sound like what happens when you go raw. Which is why i'm easing myself into a raw diet.
