Vitamin Shoppe Amino Complex

I am planning on picking some of this this up. All the other similar products I've seen are either not vegan friendly or include all kinds of crazy ingredients to drive up the cost. Would be nice if it were in powder form, but I imagine the tablets will chew up just fine. I'm thinking the placebo effect alone is worth more than $25.

Anyone tried this or know of some better/cheaper product available in the states?

A cheaper/better product would be to just eat more protein mate :)

I'm inclined to agree but I'll also defer to those that know nutritional science better than me (most)

If you do decide to buy this sort of thing, talk to the original VF beast VeganEssentials (have a look at the Strength Table ...) who has a store here http://www.veganessentials.com/ as he may be able to order stuff in for you or if not suggest where you can get stuff.

I've (and others here) bought quite a few things from them when I was in the USA and it was always good :)

I already eat a lot of protein, 150-200 grams a day, so I don't imagine more will make much of a difference. This is something to take in addition to that, and it is supposed to be more efficient. I know taking bcaa's before a lifting session definitely helps with soreness and recovery, so I would be getting those if I don't get this. I will probably just pick some up and try it and if it isn't as good as the crystallized bcaa's I'll switch back.

It's actually not. It's literally protein pills with each one containing 1.5g of protein. Supplementing aminos like this is a waste of money, because what do you think is in protein?

Eating a variety of protein sources will cover all aminos.
