Co-op donuts

Postby FormicaLinoleum » Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:37 am

I have heard that the jam and custard doughnuts are vegan. I finally went in the other day, but the bag of doughnuts don't have an ingredients list, so I don't know how to confirm that they are still vegan. And how would we know if they stopped being vegan.

I bought some yesterday - the pack I had lists allegens only as wheat & gluten which suggests that milk, eggs etc are not part of the ingredients. There is the usual disclaimer that it may contain traces of blah blah due to shared equipment.

These where confirmed as vegan a little while ago though.

No way! I’d heard the jam ones were, but I didn’t know about the custard ones.

The co-op is my local convenience store (in fact, I live opposite the headquarters) so this could be disastrous.

Um yeah, we've had these now... it's a good thing it's not super easy for us to get to a co-op, because it would be pretty bad for us if we could!

i called the information number written on the bag about two months ago, They were vegan then and as to them stopping being vegan i think they would deffinately list any sort of milk additive under the allergy blurb.Other than that though the super paranoid could call them up once every month if they wanted, the guy on the phone sounded like he had all the time in the world and like he hadnt talked to another human being in months, he was more than willing to tell me anything i wanted to know about anything at all!! :-)

Their iced buns used to be vegan too, but have not been in a co-op recently to know if they still are.

2 bags for £1, so buying one doesn't make economic sense. And they don't taste so good the next day. Means you have to get them early and just accept it's going to be a ten donut day.

Whilst this is true, if you end up only inhaling 9 and you have one left over next day a few seconds in the microwave works wonders.

I always miss the doughnuts at my co-op; the iced buns, whilst still labelled as vegan seem a poor substitiute

Are they avalible in sweden? I googled it to see what they look like and I found this picture. Never seen them in sweden. :(

(It was a very large image so I'm not using the img-tag. That would be rude)
