Taurine doesn't give an energy boost atleast, it's supposed to transport protein better and is the second most common amino acid in muscles and the most common one by volume, and vegans in a study had 78% as much of it in their blood compared to regular people (because it doesn't exist in natural vegan food, but it's non-essential so your body can make it by itself.)

I don't know about that third ingredient, to lazy to google :D

But yes, caffeine gives energy... It also gives less reason to eat and stress =P, so I guess it depends what will do most for you.

When I make an order from USA I will add l-taurine and acetyl-l-carnitine aswell.

Those 3 ingredients are in Red Bull and every clone thereof on the planet.

And what happens when people drink red bull? I'm just saying that if someone's feeling a bit of a rush, some aggression, then maybe it's down to something as straightforward as caffeine.

No, they get wiiings.

Who said advertising slogans don't work? Doh.

Anecdotally, I've seen quite a few people drink red bull with vodka and the effects are notably distinct from just one of the constituents alone; they get drunk, but the caffeine keeps them pepped up, so they're full of drunk energy whereas if it were just the vodka they'd be heading down. This can translate into quite a lot of rambunctiousness. I don't have the reference right now, but some trauma specialists have noted a link between the removal of inhibitions from consuming alcohol plus the increased "energy" and aggression from the caffeine being correlated with more PGT and PFO admissions (pissed, got thumped and pissed, fell over) to hospital.

Oooh. Bad memories.
I had an awful night when I consumed around 15 vodka-redbulls in an evening. This was stupid, especially for someone who never normally consumes caffine.
I lay in bed most of the night listening to and feeling my heart racing. I honestly thought that it might end up killing me. I felt like shit the next day too.
That was over five years ago and I've not consumed an energy drink since!

I was thinking about trying some citrulline malate from 1fast400. I was wondering if anyone had experiences or educated opinions on the following supplements. Many of them are in products like the one on this thread, but I haven't found much research on them.

citrulline malate
diarginine/nitrous malate
arginine ethyl ester
aakg/arginine alpha ketoglutarate

a girl at my job was at a work-do one night and kept drinking jaeger-bombs (red bull & jager). . . the next day in the AM she was like "i'm great, i feel great, i stayed up most of the night and feel fine!!!" bouncing off the walls like.

around 1pm she looked like she'd eaten bad shrimp and i had to send her home, hungover.

maybe that's really the intended use, who knows.

I feel bad now, cos I helped sell a load of balloons of the stuff at a benefit gig once at a pound a shot, for people to inhale. I had been assured it was harmless, so long as people are sitting down when they take it, so they can't overbalance. It seemed an easy way to make money for a good cause, as the effects seemed so temporary. Won't touch it again.

These items sound more like breakfast when I'm feeling rough than something to have at the bar to me.
