Finland have hosted the European powerlifting championships, which provided an opportunity for Germany's Patrik Baboumian to demonstrate the incedible lifts he has acheived in private training.

Strongman competitor Joni Purmonen qualified for phase one of Finland's Strongest Man 105kg category. There he was faced with a 350kg wheelbarrow, 200kg power stairs and a Viking Press.

Taking on Marathon des Sables is a challenge enough for even the most accomplished of athletes, but Fiona has overcome further challenges and still completed this astounding undertaking.

 A few days before the event started, a horse Fiona was caring for accidentally stood on her foot causing a fracture.  She went ahead as normal and a few days later was at the start line.  An allergic reaction to her socks caused an inflammation which lasted for days.

Canadian figure skater Meagan Duhamel has acheived a lifelong ambition by winning Gold at the Canadian national championships. The vegan skated with her partner Eric Radford to win their first pairs title. Their performance attracted widespread critical acclaim and was considered to be of the highest international standard.
